My hubby Anthony and I hopped in our little Honda Fit and went down to Florida for a week and a half. We drove back up with a stop in Savannah. We have been confined to NJ for most of our lives (both at one point, working in NYC), and this trip just confirmed in me the reason why I’m such an advocate for changing environments! We’ve in two road trips experienced the beauty of the East Coast! The FL sun (which is smog-free) is absolutely invigorating. Savannah has preserved itself, much I think, like Europe has. It hasn’t changed for centuries. Everyone we met was really nice, and we even experienced that Southern hospitality when our car battery died!
It took my best friend Sue’s wedding to jumpstart our trip down. Weddings can be inspirational. To watch two friends who belong together seal their relationship just gives me hope. S&G’s friends and family were also really cool, and I honestly didn’t want to leave. The trip to FL itself has managed to catapult us into traveling fiends. Traveling has always been something we’ve wanted to do, but what’s held us back is anticipating “the right time”. What better time for newlyweds than the present?
I’ll be posting some pics this week here on the blog and then, on Flickr, but here are a few from Susan’s marriage to her perfect match, Glen.
Yes, I was stoked that the “Mohawk Guy” , Andrew (!) was my partner.
Me, Jenny C., Sue C., Glen C., flower grrl, and the photog!
Dressing for the afterparty. My husband, Don Corleone.
Letting that bridesmaid hair down!
The D70 is dying. But the glitches are awesome.
My beautiful bff Susan & her husband Glen. Thanks S&G for a better time than you’ll ever know!

AWWW BINKY! I love these pics! I’m glad that you enjoyed your trip and had fun while you were here. It was so so so so much fun hanging out with you, and I can’t wait til the next time we see each other again (whenever that may be). We miss you and Anthony — and I know my sister and Jaeden do too!
Looking forward to seeing more pics! :) Upload any to our weddinglens site! Love you!
Sue
it was great to “virtually” be a part of your road trip with all your location updates. Sounds like you had so much fun and experience so much during the time away from the tri-state area. Can’t wait for more pictures and to hear of any stories you may have.
wow! lovely pics! congrats again to u sue and glen!
thanks everyone! sue, we miss you! lyn, it’s good to be back! see you soon!
That Don Corleone pic is awesome!!!! Were these all from the D70? Even the double exposure? I thought for sure some of these were Lomo. Any which way, i love them & want to let you know that I am a big fan of road trips so if you ever need company for a cross country trip or say you want to book a show in Memphis, let me know :)
Ha! To be honest, with the D70s screen not working, and who knows what else, the pictures came out funny. Mostly grainy. A few of them came out with the “double exposure” but it was really a bunch of green and pink streaks, which is cool. I should post them all! I edited the rest (Don Corleone) to have that lomographic quality because of the funny quality of the D70 pics. Alas, my D70 is a TOY DSLR! Wahhh!
And yes, we shall roadtrip!! SXSW is this month right? Hahaha jk
Memphis May 9-15? with a stop to see Chuck Berry in St Louis? I have a new found like for making my Nikon pics look Lomo-y . Partial desaturation is my new friend. I can’t believe its double exposuring. so cool. I was looking at getting a new regular lens for mine because of all the dust in it but it seems cheaper to just get a whole new unit. I’ll hold off for now & embrace the dust.
PS Have you checked the actual memory card? I think you did. I know that I have one memory card that will not work in the Nikon & it always errors me & gives me images that PS won’t open.
