Welcome to my art blog! I consider myself an artist above anything: I love to create. Here, I will post up my own works, as well as the works of those who inspire me. I see something beautiful, hear something magical, and I get obsessed. Maybe you feel the same.
I’m actually TRULY suffering from the duality of being ashamed to post my meager works, and having the need for showcasing them as artists are compelled to do. Sigh.
An artist has to discern inspiration from imitation. There are many times where I’ll write a song, or paint a picture, only to find it already exists. The high I get from the accomplishment of creating something that is truly and uniquely mine is something I always crave.
The mantra of Mimeographic is from Wilde’s De Profundis: “Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.” Despite our human symbiosis in the search for an identity, Mimeographic strives for that unique signature in every artist, especially in myself. I hope you visit this blog as often as possible. I will update as much as possible! -Binky V
