For the last three years, I’ve been almost exclusively playing with my band Binky Bianca, along with the rare demo for TV. Before that, I wrote songs and sang them on my own, performing wherever they would take me!
For today’s blog, I thought I’d share a demo I wrote back when the band was just forming, and I was just playing in comfy coffee joints. It’s one of my favorite demos, because it’s so breezy. I also imagined having a cool girl band to play along with it. (Any volunteers?) Listening to my old demos inspires me to write new songs, not just for the band. A goal of mine is to start a new music project with my husband and really stretch ourselves as musicians. Enjoy!
Please note: This is a GarageBand demo, so there may be some sour notes! (If you haven’t taken advantage of using Garageband, and you’re a musician, DO IT! It’s easy!)
Vocals, guitar (my husband’s Les Paul), midi organ, midi bass, midi drums, all performed by me.

Lyrics:
Do do do do Ahhhh Do do do do
He asked me would I like to share a bottle of water with him
My heart it skips a beat
Then it plays reggae
I’m just a sophomore only 15 I think I’m in love
I’m grateful for the heat
And all the springs in Maine
I’m a girl (a girl) what could you want with me
You’re a boy (oh boy) I think it’s plain to see
That I fumble while a chase is ensuin
But the truth is I know exactly what I am doin
Do do do do
He asked me do I have a spare bit of chewing gum
In a sort of foreign tongue fit for a Queen
We stare at pictures of buildings exploding like the sun
He’s my hero a fireman and how I gleam
What is this feeling?
I think my heads on the ceiling
Either that or it’s spinning around
Do do do do
He asked me would I wear his diamond ring though it’s small
I told him baby I’m five feet tall it’s fine with me
Do do do do
It’s fine with me
Do do do do

haha binkay! LOVE IT!
aww this song has such a cute, pop-y feel. you’re so talented! :)
i love it! another hit!
I also love it. It has a very retro girl group feel to it but at the same time, it is completely modern, unique & ahead of the curve. You should add it to your shows please. I have had “Absolute” stuck in my head all week until tonight when i was watching “The Office” & thinking about “Trap Door” & how if/when I ever get married I’d like to dance to it even with the non-applicable baby lyrics. You’re awesome!
Awesome. Play it live with Mike singing backup!!!!!!
well, you know I can’t play any instrument to save my life but if you ever want someone to sing with, I’m totally down!
Please play this :)
