I love my scanner! One of my favorite things to do is to take freshly cut images and/or textured/patterned paper and write or draw all over them. Then I can scan the image and play around on editing software. The result is a mixed media collage that looks both organic and surreal. Here are a couple examples of how I have fun scanning and editing pages from my own journal. (Now you’ll know all my SECRETS!) All I used were a fine gel pen, some Copic markers, and my [imposter] moleskine. Oh, and of course, Photoshop CS4!
Thanks to the folks at Somerset Studio for their MAGAZINES: the inspiration of this post. The artists in these magazines play around with other mediums. Check it out! I was inspired mainly by these three mags:

impostor moleskin! ahahaha… very cool ideas! the only mag i know from your images is digital studio. i’ll check the others out. TFS!
No prob Baloi! Hahaha! Well, they had imposter Moleskines at Borders. $6, and it’s pretty much exactly the same! I couldn’t resist. I’ll never go back! :-)
I’m definitely going to brush up on my Photoshop compositing skills and do this type of collaging/digital scrapbooking more often! Maybe not with my journal, next time. :p
